Jesus Demonstrated the Fruit of the Spirit on the Cross

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Galatians 5:22-23 NLT version)

Joy and Love

It was love that sent Jesus to the cross and through his suffering on the cross he found joy. He knew that all of mankind would be saved because of his sacrifice (Mattew 26:42).

Peace

Jesus completed his mission to reconcile us back to God which created wholeness in us by His death (Mattew 26:56). Peace will always be the end result from being in unity and harmony with God.

Patience

He was patient and longsuffering on the cross. The Roman soldiers put nails in his hands and feet. They pierced his side and blood, and water came out. Some scholars saw that he died of a broken heart because of mankind sins. He took no balm, and he did the will of the Father (John 19:34, Mattew 27: 34).

Kindness

He showed kindness to us by giving of his life. He laid it down. He gave his breathe so we could have the breath of God in us and on us (John 10:17-18, Luke 23:46).

Goodness

The goodness of God leads us to repentance. Jesus helps us to turn to God because we couldn’t do it our sinful state (Mark 15: 31-32, Mattew 26:59-63, Mark 14:55-61).

Faithful, Gentleness and Self-Control

He was faithful to resist temptation in his service to God. “Likewise the chief priests also, mocking among themselves with the scribes, said, “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. Let the Christ, The King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe (Mark 15:31)”.

He was gentle because his power was restrained. He choose to let the Roman soldiers beat, mock, ridicule, humiliate and dishonor him. He had self-control and chose to die when he did nothing wrong. The people were staying if you are the Son of God save yourself (Mattew 26:39).

His Love and Blessings,

Danielle
