The Lord has been speaking to me about tearing down old structures and building new ones.
Everyone has systems and structures in their mind, a way of doing things. Some things have been taught through school, friends, family, experiences, and some from generational/bloodline curses.
As we grow in Christ, the Holy Spirit will begin prompting our spirit man to get rid of these structures. They can be emotional hurts, walls that we have put up to protect ourselves so we won’t get hurt again. Sometimes we have habits that have turned into cycles that we can’t seem to break free. This is when you know it is generational.
You want to stop doing this habit but don’t know how.
These cycles, structures and mindsets, stop us from becoming who God has called us to be. Ecclesiastes 3:1, speaks about a time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. God wants you to tear down those old structures, and build new ones.
First, we have to acknowledge that we can’t do it by ourselves. Ask God to reveal to you what he wants to get rid of and why it needs to go.
If you don’t feel comfortable going to God directly or you would like more help ask a trusted friend to pray for you. If we don’t get rid of the old mind sets, structures or hurts then it becomes an idol and we get into disobedience. Isaiah 61:4, speaks about letting God rebuild those ancient ruins in your mind, heart, soul and spirit.
Let him begin to repair what has become broken in your life. We must seek to become whole so God can use us for his Glory.
