Possessing the Kingdom
We possess the kingdom by acknowledging that we cannot guide ourselves in this world and acknowledging that we need help. We come to Jesus as a child trusting him to take care of us and to meet our needs. We acknowledge that there is nothing in this world that can make us whole or happy apart from him.
We read his word and believe what it says, then we act on it. We look to Jesus instead of relying on our emotions and thoughts to lead and guide ourselves. We acknowledge that we don’t have the power within ourselves to behave as we ought to. We ask God to help us with our weaknesses that they may become strengths. We suffer for doing right when others have treated us badly. We conduct ourselves as Jesus would act to being honor to God’s name.

Possessing the Kingdom when did it happen?
We possess the kingdom when Jesus went to the cross. He took all of our sins. He paid the price for us by being a sacrifice. When he rose from the dead, he gave us the power to live a life more pleasing to God because his spirit is on the inside of us. His Spirit gives us the strength to serve God and to do his will everyday.
