How To Respond To God’s Love?

Love does no harm to a neighbor (Rom. 14:10 NJKV)

Love: the commitment one makes to the best interest of the other person, as expressed in actions that benefit them. Love covers offenses that would come between relationships. It always look out for the best in others (Leviticus 19:18 NKJV)

We are to respond to God’s love with devotion.

Deuteronomy 6:5 say’s love in this verse can be translated ” to make a choice in. This love is obedient to God’s commandments. The love which God has shown us is intended to provoke our love for him and to motivate a lifestyle of love toward others.

We are to respond to God’s love with reverence, which is honor and respect that is felt or shown.

Honor an exclusive or special right, power or privilege (Deuteronomy10:12-13 NKJV). Proverbs 1:7 say’s fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. The person who fears the Lord and has an awareness of God’s power and authority will live a godly life out of respect for God.

We are to respond to God’s love by walking in His ways.

We must walk like Jesus (1 John 2:6), serve the Lord to do His will with all your emotions (whole being) Soul= mind, will, emotions, thoughts. Love covers all sins (Proverbs10:12a NJKV). We don’t keep a record of the wrongs that others have done to us and use them at a later time to throw back at people when were upset. We are to owe no man anything except to love him (Romans14:8 NKJV). We are called to even love those we don’t like. You shall love your neighbor as you love yourself is to teach how to love Him, ourselves and then other people (Romans14:9a NKJV)

We demonstrate our love by forgiving and not talking openly about their sins (1Peter 4:8 NKJV)

There is no fear in love, love is mature and gives (1 John 4:18 NKJV), it lays down its life for a friend (John 15:13 NKJV). We are to be an be an example of God’s love (John 13:34,35 NKJV). We can demonstrate this love because a friend loves at all times, a friend always gives and doesn’t leave when you’re going through problems (Proverbs17:17 NKJV).
