How to Have A Pure Heart for God?

Today, we are going to discuss the Heart of God. Lately, he has been speaking to me about having a pure heart. To know God’s heart, we have to know what is the condition of our hearts.

To know the condition of our hearts we have to ask God. In the book of Jeremiah, it says our hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked. Then in Psalms 44, God knows the secrets of the heart.

The bible talks about a clean heart, a pure heart, a broken heart, and a hardened heart.

A broken heart is when you have given your heart to someone and your love is not returned or someone you loved very much has passed away and it feels like your heart broke when they died.

You can get a hardened heart when you have been rejected and you close your heart and do not want to love again.

Another way to get a hardened heart is when others have withheld love from you. You put up walls around your heart because you don’t want to get hurt. No love comes in and no love goes out. But God doesn’t want us to have a broken or a hardened heart but he does want us to have a pure and clean heart. If we ask Him, he will change our hearts to make it like his.

God is compassionate, he is also full of love and mercy. Our hearts should yearn and long to be united with his heart. He wants us to love him with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our strength (Deuteronomy 6:5). In order to do this, we have to surrender our hearts to him and give him the hurts in our hearts. This is the only way we can love him fully.

We must strive to have a pure heart.

A heart that consistently runs after him. Only the pure in heart will see God (Matthew 5:8). Our hearts have to be without spot, blemish or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:7). A heart that does not desire falsehood or deceit (Psalm 24:3-4). A heart that wants the best for all of God’s people even to the point that we put their interests before our own (John 3:16).

God gave his heart to mankind when he gave us Jesus. He gave us an example to follow.

Let our prayer be for God to give us pure and clean hearts, one that is dedicated to him and put’s him first.

His Love and Blessing,

Danielle
